A wildfire engulfed homes in California making thousands being evacuated, with the National Weather Service issuing a red flag alert that described the situation as "particularly dangerous".

News organisations reported that in the city of Camarillo thick smoke blanketed the sky above, and homes and cars were completely gutted. The Mountain Fire spread over 14,000 acres with at least 800 firefighters assigned to handling it. Helicopters too were expected to be pressed into the task of dousing the raging fire. Over 10,000 people had been evacuated as the mountain fire threatened to engulf over 3,500 buildings, news reports said quoting California Governor Gavin Newsom.
