For the first time after a clash between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymir Zelenski, officials of the two nations held a talk in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to find a way out to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

After the clash, the relationship between Washington and Kyiv had soared very badly with Trump deciding to stop all military aid to Ukraine. European allies of Zelenski had suggested him that he should amend his relations with Washington.

Andriy Yermak, Zelenskiy's chief of staff who is leading the Ukrainian delegation, wrote on social media platform Telegram, stating: "The meeting has begun very constructively".

As the U.S. has been providing huge military support to Ukraine, U.S. had started the process of holding direct talks with Russia to end the war. However, the two nations first want to improve their diplomatic relations before going into talks to formally start ending the war.
