The presidential election of the United States has taken curious turn. While as part of the election strategy, the Republicans have filed 130 lawsuits state-by-state, with an aim, according to them, to make sure votes are counted properly and that people don't vote illegally, the Democrats are defending that the 2020 presidential election was fair.
People had questioned Republicans about the chaos post 2020 election saying that it had been caused by Donald Trump supporters, and the Republicans had been avoiding any direct response. The lawsuit is being seen as a response to such question of the people. Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance on Wednesday, pressing on this very line of thought had said that he believed that Donald Trump did not lose the 2020 election.
A day before on Tuesday, as a response to the lawsuits of the Republicans, Democrat candidate Kamala Harris had said that “the 2020 election was free, fair, and secure, and Democrats are making sure that 2024 is the same,".
Election for the post of U.S. President is scheduled for November 5, and the world is eagerly waiting as to who is going to occupy the hot seat. The U.S. is involved in the world affairs, including the two wars: Russia vs Ukraine; and Israel vs Hezbollah-Hamas and Iran-Palestine. Thus, who occupies the hot seat has a direct bearing on the world affairs. The two candidates are locked up in a very tight race.
