A U.S. court has on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for billionaire Gautam Adani, one of the richest persons of India over a $ 250m bribes, news organisations have reported.
Adani has been charged by the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) with allegedly defrauding investors and bribing officials. An investigation conducted by the United States’ FBI claimed that Mr Adani and others agreed to bribe Indian government officials to lie to investors and banks to raise billions of dollars, in relation to one of the world's largest solar projects.
Adani Group has denied the charges calling it a ‘baseless charge’.
