A day before the television face-to-face debate between Trump and Harris tomorrow, the U.S. officials on Monday have charged Russia of increasingly turning to American social media stars with an intension of influencing the upcoming presidential election, news agency Reuters has reported.
“What we see them doing is relying on witting and unwitting Americans to seed, promote and add credibility to narratives that serve these foreign actors’ interest,” a U.S. intelligence official said in a briefing on Friday.
The presidential elections are scheduled in the U.S. on November 5. Campaigns by both the candidates, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, are intense. A television face to face debate is scheduled between the two tomorrow, on September 10.
