U.S. asks Israel for cease fire, Israeli airstrikes kill nine Palestinians

While the U.S. has asked Israel to cease fire, two Israeli airstrikes in West Bank on August 3, has killed nine Palestinians amidst signs of flaring up of violence. The Israel army has said that its airstrikes have killed nine ‘Palestine militants’.

The violence took place amidst cease-fire discussions on Gaza continuing, with an Israeli delegation led by the Mossad chief visiting Cairo. The U.S., meanwhile, has urged Israel to make use of the chance and go for cease-fire after the incident of killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyen, which Iran has blamed on Israel.
