U.S. Announces $8 Billion Military Assistance to Ukraine against Russia

U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday announced military assistance of about $8 billion in order to win the war against Russia. The support included a precision-guided glide bomb called the Joint Standoff Weapon, with a range of up to 81 miles (130 km).

News organisations reported that the military assistance to Ukraine was announced by Joe Biden upon a visit to the U.S. of Ukraine President Zelenskiy. The bomb, capable of striking targets with high accuracy, has to be dropped from a fighter jet.

" Today, I am announcing a surge in security assistance for Ukraine and a series of additional actions to help Ukraine win this war," U.S. President Biden was quoted by news reports.
