UN fact-finding team to visit Bangladesh to investigate human rights abuses

The U.N. is sending a team on a fact-finding mission to Bangladesh on the violence that left large number of deaths. The team that is expected to come to Bangladesh next week, will investigate into areas like human rights abuses in the country, according to a UN official, said a post on X by the Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been ousted from her post and forced to flee her country after a prolonged unrest that resulted over 500 deaths due to violent clash between groups, and with the police. Sheikh Hasina is now in India, but back home in Bangladesh, a case has been registered against her.
