UN Climate Summit 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan

Despite global warming being a harsh reality that is growing every summer, the hopes of UN Climate Summit, 2024 being held in Baku, Azerbaijan, named “Conference of Parties 29” (COP29) appeared to be heading nowhere, and the participants seemed still celebrating fossil fuel.

Events like dense smog, schools and colleges shut in Summer due to extreme heat, untimely rain and flush floods visit unknown places, and many such things are becoming all too common.

In East Africa, many children, according to a report of global news agency Reuters, missed school in April due to extreme heat, who now want the global leaders to take concrete action to address global warming. However, COP29 is lukewarm and “talks have descended into a circus of boycotts, political tirades and fossil fuels celebrations”.
