Typhoon Bebinca hits China’s Sanghai, strongest since 1949

China’s financial hub Sanghai went to a standstill on Monday after it was lashed out by one of the worst typhoons, named, Bebinca.

The storm made its landfall on Sanghai on Monday morning, with a wind speed of 151 kph (94 mph), news reports said. The storm is said to be the most powerful in Sanghai in the last seven decades, since Typhoon Gloria it the city in 1949.

News organisations reported that more than 400,000 people have been evacuated from their homes for their safety. The storm has felled nearly 10,000 trees that stood on its way, reports claimed.
