Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan has on Saturday called upon the West to take deterrent steps against Israel’s war that has now spread from Gaza to Lebanon. He said he would be taking up the Israel’s war in Gaza when he presents his speech in the United Nations General Assembly meet next week.
"In order for our region not to be dragged into a great disaster, the pressure on Israel must be increased even more," reported news organisations quoting Erdogan, who addressed a press conference in Istanbul. Erdogan brought about the issue of Israel’s attack on the communications device used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon a few days back that killed 39 and left over 3,000 severely injured.
"It is time for all countries with the mission of protecting world peace to come up with solutions that will stop Israel," Erdogan said.
