Trump tariff is bringing sworn arch rivals of Asia, China and India closer with China saying that China and India should stand together to face the tariff coming from the United States.

"China-India economic and trade relationship is based on complementarity and mutual benefit. Facing the U.S. abuse of tariffs... the two largest developing countries should stand together to overcome the difficulties," spokesperson of Chinese Embassy in India Yu Jing has said in a post on X.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced an additional 50% tariff on all Chinese goods if China did not amend its stand within 48 hours, on its reciprocal tariff of 34 per cent on the goods imported from the United States. Thus, the total tariff by U.S. on China reaches 104 per cent.

On the other hand, Trump was reported to be waiting for Chinese call for a talk over tariff, but so far China hasn’t responded to his wait. Thus, U.S.-China trade war has taken an ugly turn, forcing China to look towards India.
