Trump supporters who stormed U.S. Capitol walk free upon an executive order

Supporters of President Donald Trump, who had stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 have been pardoned by the President through an executive order on his Day One and they will now walk free from prison.

Trump supporters had stormed the Capitol with an aim to prevent the Congress from certifying win of Democratic candidate Joe Biden in 2020 presidential election. They did not succeed in their purpose. According to reports, a total of around 1500 defendants have been pardoned by an executive order of President Trump.
