Donald Trump declined a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday, following her campaign's acceptance of CNN's invitation for an October 23 debate. Jen O'Malley Dillon, Harris' campaign chair, announced the Vice President’s readiness for the event and urged Trump to participate.

However, Trump reiterated his stance against another debate, citing that voting had already begun. "It's just too late," he told supporters at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Harris and Trump previously debated on September 10, with polls indicating a win for Harris. Trump had earlier debated President Joe Biden in June, after which Biden’s shaky performance led to Democratic concerns. Biden withdrew from the race in July, leaving Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate for the November 5 election.
