Republican presidential candidate and Former US President Donald Trump met visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The meeting is seen as Trump's effort to amend his relationship with a key ally of the US. He has said he pledged in the meetings to make every effort to bring peace in the Middle East.
This was the first time face-to-face among the two leaders in the last four years. Trump has been critical of President Joe Biden's policy with Israel. For Netanyahu himself, his US visit that has ended, has been highly contentious. Americans have been divided over Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza as it has created a humanitarian situation. Earlier, during her meeting with Netanyahu, Democratic front-runner for the Presidential election Kamala Harris has already made her stand clear on the issue saying that she will 'not be silent'.
With many countries asking Israel to stop it's war against Palestine, and UN court of Justice terming the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel, the Jewish country is now under international pressure.
