U.S. President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump are scheduled to meet at the White House on Wednesday, news organisations have reported.

According to reports, Trump, who takes up his second term on January 20 next year, will meet Biden on the invitation of Biden. "At President Biden’s invitation, President Biden and President-elect Trump will meet in the Oval Office on Wednesday," Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was quoted as saying by news organisations.

For Trump, his third contest for the top post in the U.S. initially against Biden, and then formally against Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, had been a landslide victory.

As the Democrats leaves office and the Republicans enter, the world eagerly waits for what kind of world order the new President of the United States would like to work for. Will he be any different from Biden on crucial sectors like the wars, particularly on Israel-Palestine conflict that has left huge number of civilians killed, hundreds of thousand rendered homeless and hungry in Gaza and Lebanon?
