U.S. and China talks on negotiations over trade conflict and tariffs have been held for the second consecutive day on Sunday even as the United States President Donald Trump spoke of a good progress in the talks.

On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote: "A very good meeting today with China, in Switzerland. Many things discussed, much agreed to". He further said: "We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!"

Talks are taking place in Geneva, where China Vice Premier He Lifeng met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Sunday. This was the first face-to-face between senior level leaders of both the countries.

While the United States has imposed 145 per cent tariff on Chinese goods entering U.S. soil, China is levying 125 per cent tariff on U.S. goods. Trade conflict has escalated so much between the two countries that it threatens to negatively impact global economy to a great extent, a reason why most countries of the world are on worry.

According to reports, if the talks succeed, United States may engage with other nations of the world on trade negotiation.
