Trade conflict between the U.S. and China appears to be increasing with China banning items related to the minerals gallium, germanium and antimony that have potential military applications.

According to news reports quoting the China commerce ministry, there was a directive fora stricter review of end-usage for graphite items shipped to the U.S. “In principle, the export of gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials to the United States shall not be permitted," the commerce ministry was quoted by news organisations.

In the last few days, there clearly has been witnessed an escalation in trade conflict between the U.S. and China. U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s election promises of “America First” and policy of heavy tariff on imports into the U.S. and heavier tariff on imports from China has put the two powerful economies of the world in a trade conflict.
