Pope Francis will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday morning, news organisations said quoting Vatican on Wednesday.
The Pope has been advising the end of the two on-going wars that have created large-scale humanitarian problems and misery. Earlier on, the Pontiff had urged Ukraine to negotiate and end war with Russia.
As for the Middle-East crisis, countries have already been advised by the Pope to immediately stop the war and avert further humanitarian crises. A few days back, the Pontiff had termed the Middle-east conflict and its resultant human misery as a “shameful inability” of the humanity.
Both Ukraine and Russia are Christian countries once a single unit at the time of USSR, now fighting for their own rights. On the other hand, Israel and Hamas-Hezbollah war has involved predominantly Christian West and the Jews, vis-à-vis the Islamic few.
Ukraine President Zelenskiy is also expected to hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his stay in Rome, according to reports.
