The Impeached President of South Korea Appears in the Court

Impeached president of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol appeared for a trial in a court in Seol on Thursday. It was the first appearance of the former president in the charge of insurrection labelled against him.

According to reports, Yoon, who has been indicted of leading an insurrection during a short-lived imposition of martial law in December, has been placed at the Seoul Detention Centre, from where he was taken to the court amidst high security.
