Tech Billionaire Elon Musk to Lead Government Efficiency Department in Trump Administration

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has carved out a new role for tech billionaire Elon Musk, naming him to lead the government efficiency task. A new department that has been created for Musk to lead which has been named as Department of Government Efficiency, an entity that will operate outside the confines of government. Musk will co-lead the new department with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

According to reports of news organisations, the new department set up to ensure efficiency of the Trump administration, has been tasked with the jobs of suggesting to the President “to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, if necessary, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies", as put by Trump himself.

Musk donated huge fund to support Trump’s campaign that finally ensured a thumping victory for the Republican candidate against Vice President and Democratic candidate Ms. Kamala Harris. Musk’s new role would be informal and hence it will allow him to remain the head of electric car company Tesla, social media platform X and rocket company SpaceX.
