Taiwan says China fighter planes flew its south to hold air force exercise in Pacific

U.S. is law-bound to provide arms to Taiwan for self-defence, which is disliked by China

Taiwan on Sunday said that it had spotted as many as 35 Chinese aircrafts, including fighter jets flying to flying to its south for exercise in the Pacific. It said this was the second day China’s aircrafts flew past to its south.

Taiwan earlier had expressed fear that China would be holding military exercises around its territory ahead of the presidential election in the United States.

China has been claiming Taiwan part of its own territory, but Taiwan maintains that it is a sovereign nation democratically governed. According to international agreement, U.S. is law -bound to provide arms aid to Taiwan for self-defence, which is disliked by China.
