States in the United States of America are worried about post-election unrest and have taken security precautions. According to reports by news organisations, authorities of at least 19 states have activated National Guard to maintain peace in case of an unrest after the election.
The states where National Guards have been or will be activated include Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin and Washington state, Washington DC, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.
In state like Nevada where protests by Trump supporters broke out after the 2020 election, security fence rings are in place around tabulation centres.
Concerns about potential political violence have prompted officials to take a variety of measures to bolster security during and after election day, news organisations have reported.
As the voters in the United States have been sharply divided one Democrat or Republican lines, there is a tensed atmosphere during the election.
