Senior U.S. diplomat visits Nepal to discuss cooperation on mutual interest

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma on August 16 met Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba during his one-day visit to the Himalayan country. The Deputy Secretary of the U.S. is learnt to have discussed various aspects of bilateral ties and development cooperation between the U.S. and Nepal.

This is the first time a senior diplomat of U.S. visited Nepal after Mr Oli assumed charge as the Prime Minister last month. According to The Kathmandu Post newspaper, Prime Minister Mr. Oli expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the U.S. for economic and social progress of Nepal.
