Russian troops on Wednesday took control of Ukrainian town of Vuhledar, a city that had vehemently resisted Russian attacks since the war started two years ago.

News organisations reported that though Russian army is yet to formally issue statement regarding its capture of Vuhledar, Russians flags appeared planted atop buildings in Vuhledar, photographs of which had been observed in Russian Telegram channels.

Ukraine had been pleading support in terms of arms and funds from its NATO allies to fight Russia. Two days back, NATO new chief Mark Rutte had said that Ukraine must stay in war against Russia. However, fall of Vuhledar to Russian control has established Russian superiority over Ukraine.
