Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has declared a three-day ceasefire during May 8-10, would be hosting international leaders in Moscow to mark the end of the World War II.

The three-days’ ceasefire would run on May 8 to 10; and the celebrations have been marked for May 8-9. Among the leaders Putin hosts in Moscow to mark the occasion include Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenski, on the other hand, has shown little interest on the brief ceasefire saying that he is only interested in a 30-day ceasefire and that given the war situation going on, it was difficult to guarantee the security of the foreign dignitaries who come to Moscow for the occasion.

Russia, meanwhile, did not take it kindly and responded to Ukraine saying that if Russian capital Moscow is attacked during the May 9 celebrations, guarantee of that Kyiv will remain secured on May 10 would not be taken.
