Russia expels six Britain diplomats

Russia on Friday expelled six British diplomats accusing spying and subversive activities. Britain, however, called Russian accusations completely baseless, news organisations reported.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said that it had evidence of U.K. Foreign office’s involvement in “intelligence-gathering and subversive activities”, based on which the six Britain diplomats had been expelled from Russia. Russia feared that the said cell of U.K. Foreign office had the “main task to inflict a strategic defeat on our country”.

U.K., however, has dismissed the Russian accusation as completely baseless. Two days before, the United States and Britain had pledged to support Ukraine with an additional $1.5 billion.
