Attorneys general of 47 States in United States of America have urged for a ‘peaceful transfer of power’, news organisation The Hindu reported on Tuesday, the day of voting for the post of the President.
Over 78 million voters had already exercised their voting rights making use of early voting system by Monday, as against 186 million Americans who are eligible voters. The most powerful nation is electing its 47th President, between two choices: Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, in a very closely contested election. Voting commenced in New Hampshire, the first state to poll in the U.S. Presidential election.
Political observers categorize the election as one of the most unpredictable elections, as Harris and Trump are very closely locked in contest. While both the candidates hope to defeat the other and win, the victory of a candidate will be decided by a very think margin.
