North Korea has confirmed the fears expressed by South Korea, saying that it tested the world’s longest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Thursday, terming it as ‘world’s most powerful strategic weapon’ as reported by news organisations. North Korea leader Kim Jong Un said that the longest ICBM test was an‘appropriate military action’.
The longest ICBM came amidst the ensuing presidential poll in the United States and the U.S. and West concern over North Korea sending troops to Russia for deployment against Ukraine. The tests appeared more as a response to the criticism of the U.S., South Korea and the West against North Korean troops alongside Russia.
