Spain's Energy and Environment minister Teresa Ribera will be the new antitrust chief tasked with reining in the power of Big Tech and also ensuring that the EU achieves its green goals.

A day before, French President Emmanuel Macron, by agreeing to yield to von der Leyen, who got re-elected as the chief of European Commission, had been weakened on the European stage, as he had to sacrifice his heavyweight candidate Thierry Breton.

India’s national Census would be carried out soon, country’s Interior Minister Amit Shah has said, according to news organisations. The Census operations in the world’s most populous nation, will take place after a delay of over three years.

The Census had to be carried out in 2021. Census in India takes place once in every ten years. The 2021-Census could not be held due to pandemic. The Census operations will be completed in 18 months after they kick off.
