Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Friday that Tuesday’s missile attack of Iran on Israel was “legal and legitimate” and was a minor punishment for Israel’s crime, and that more such attacks would be done in future, if necessary, news organisations reported.
Ali Khamenei delivered a sermon while presiding over a prayer meeting in Iran’s capital Tehran. In his sermon, the Supreme Leader of Iran praised the job of the military officers of Iran.
Israel, on the other hand, continued its airstrikes on Thursday night and Friday. One such strike cut off a main highway that linked Lebanon with Syria and it was rendered unusable. The airstrikes of Israel upon Lebanon have been making Lebanese flee their homes and cross over to Syria.
Israel’s incessant airstrikes has caused huge humanitarian problems in both Lebanon and Gaza; and Iran now, after Tuesday’s missile launch upon Israel, has come to open support to Hezbollah. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Beirut to discuss the ongoing war with Israel with Lebanon officials. Israel on the other hand, launched new airstrikes upon southern suburbs of Beirut and south Lebanon.
War in the Middle-East seemed to have clearly escalated after Israeli strikes killed top leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas.
