Text messaging app Telegram has been banned in Ukraine from official use, fearing that Ukraine’s enemy Russia may spy on the message and the users, news reports said. The restrictions on the app were announced by the National Security and Defence Council after evidence of Russia’s ability to spy through the app, was established by the council.

Countries appear to have become too careful of security in usage of messaging devices as well as messaging apps in recent days, and more so after Israel detonated devices used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon a few days back.
