Japan Foreign Minister meets U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio

As the U.S. President Donald Trump adopts a tough foreign policy on China, expecting its fall-out upon East Asia, Japan foreign ministry has informed Trump administration the need of strengthening Japan’s defence.

As the U.S. President Donald Trump adopts a tough foreign policy on China, expecting its fall-out upon East Asia, Japan foreign ministry has informed Trump administration the need of strengthening its defence, according to reports.

Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya held a meeting with President Trump's Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz on Tuesday in Washington.

China’s aggressive policy in the neighbourhood and North Korea’s nuclear capabilities has caused concern in the region, and Japan has often come out in open regarding this. Japan is allied with the United States. Other countries in East Asia including South Korea, Taiwan and the like, too are allies of the United States. The U.S. has been asking its allies to increase their defence spending and strengthen the military.
