New Foreign Minister of Japan Minister Takeshi Iwaya has raised concern about stabbing incidents on Japanese nationals in China, according to reports of news organisations.

Last month a 10-year-old studying in the city of Shenzhen had been fatally stabbed while a Chinese national trying to shield a Japanese mother and child from an attacker had been killed in the city of Suzhou. These attacks raised concerns about anti-Japanese atmosphere growing in China, the Japanese minister said, urging China to provide protection to foreigners in China.
