An Israeli airstrike on the south suburbs of Beirut has killed a Hezbollah commander on Tuesday, news organisations reported. The commander has been identified as Ibrahim Qubaisi. Along with him, six others too have been killed. Qubaisi was a leading figure in Hezbollah.

Israel in the last few days has increased attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, that increase fear of a full-fledged war in the Middle-East. Israel has opened two fronts now: Gaza and Lebanon. While it is fighting the Hamas in Gaza, its army is engaged with Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In Gaza, strikes by Israeli forces on Tuesday killed 22 Palestinians, news agency Reuters reported, quoting the Palestine health ministry.
