Israel has said it will take legal action against French President Emmanuel Macron after the French government banned Israeli firms from participating in an upcoming military naval trade show in Paris. The military naval trade show is scheduled from November 4 to 7.
News organisations quoting Israeli Foreign Minister Katz wrote on Sunday that Katz had ordered his ministry to start legal proceedings against French President Emmanuel Macron.
Macron government’s decision to ban Israeli firms from participating in the Paris trade show is the latest unease of France with Israel over the latter’s war with Hamas-Hezbollah in Palestine and Lebanon. Macron has been openly critical of the war saying that Israel is killing the civilians with its attacks and that the war has created huge humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Lebanon, and hence Israel should immediately stop it.
"I have instructed the Foreign Ministry to take legal and diplomatic action against French President ... decision to prevent Israeli companies from showcasing their products at the @SalonEuronaval exhibition in Paris next month," Katz said in a statement on social platform X.
