Israel Launches Airstrikes in Lebanon Following Hezbollah Rocket Fire

Israel conducted airstrikes in south Lebanon’s Nabatieh district on Monday night in retaliation for Hezbollah rocket fire near a watchtower in the occupied Shebaa farms. The attack marked Hezbollah’s first action against Israel since a ceasefire took effect on Wednesday.

Hezbollah fired two rockets that landed in open areas, causing no injuries, and described the attack as a “defensive warning response” to alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed a "strong" reaction, and the Israeli military confirmed targeting sites in Lebanon, promising further updates.

The strikes represent the most serious escalation since the ceasefire was established, raising fears of renewed conflict between Hezbollah and Israel just five days after the truce. The situation remains tense, with concerns over the potential resumption of broader hostilities.
