Israel on Saturday conducted airstrikes on Iranian sites, believably as a response to the Iranian missile attacks of October 1.
Israel military said, according to news organisations, that it had completed its operations fulfilling its objectives. Iran meanwhile said that Israel conducted three rounds of airstrikes in airstrikes on its military targets in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces—all of which had been intercepted by its air defence system causing only a “limited damage”.
After the killing of top Hamas leader Ismail Haniyen in Tehran that Iran believed to have been carried out by Israel, Iran had vowed to retaliate. On October 1, Iran fired over 200 missiles into Israel territories, reportedly causing damage on Israeli military sites. Israel had been planning a response. But after the United States President Joe Biden warned Israel not to attack the nuclear or oil facilities of Iran, Israel had fewer options.
A few days back, Russian President Vladimir Putin had expressed concern over the Middle-East crisis, saying: "The degree of confrontation between Israel and Iran has sharply increased. All this resembles a chain reaction and puts the entire Middle East on the brink of a full-scale war."
Though Iran did not immediately react to the Israeli strikes, Middle-East crisis has deepened with Israeli action.
