Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is in Moscow along with a letter of Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for Russian President Putin.

According to reports, the letter of Ali Khamenei is to brief the Kremlin about nuclear negotiations with the U.S., first round of which took place in Oman last week. Second round of the talks are scheduled to take place in Rome, ahead of which Tehran wants its principal ally, Russia, to be briefed about the talks.

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Iran if it did not negotiate with the U.S. over its nuclear programmes. While the U.S. has been accusing Iran of engaging in enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapon, Iran has been maintaining that it is engaged in peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araqchi, however, has stated that Iran’s right to enrich uranium is non-negotiable.
