Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has on Sunday said that Iran officials will decide how to respond to Israel’s air attack on Iran two days ago.
News organisations, quoting Khamenei, said: "The evil committed by the Zionist regime two nights ago should neither be downplayed nor exaggerated."
Two days back, Israel had carried out three airstrikes involving bombing of military sites of Iran. On October 1, Iran had launched 200 missiles upon Israel as a response to the killings of Hamas chief Haniyen in Tehran, and Hezbollah leader Nasrullah.
After the attacks, Israel military had said that it had completed what it wanted to do as a response to Iran missile attacks, signaling that Israel does not want escalation. Iran too had played down the Israel attacks saying that it had caused “limited damage”.
The U.S. President Joe Biden too has called for a halt to escalation that has raised fears of an all-out conflagration in the Middle East. However, fears of further escalation in the war continues.
