Iran supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said on Monday that Iran will respond with a ‘strong blow’if the United States attacked it. He was responding to U.S. President Donald Trump who had said on Sunday that if Iran did not come to the negotiation table with the U.S. over its nuclear programme, the U.S. will think of bombing Iran.

According to reports, Iran reportedly handed over a warning letter to the U.S. through Switzerland's embassy, which represents the U.S. interest and works as an intermediary between Iran and the United States.

The U.S. and the West believe that Iran is working on a nuclear weapon programme while Iran maintains that its nuclear programme is purely civil. Trump is pressing Iran to come on a negotiation with the U.S. over the nuclear programme.
