Even as the presidential election campaigns are going tight-rope for both Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, U.S. faces a daunting task of clearing the chaos that hurricane Helen has left in its Southeast.
The hurricane left several people dead, triggered mudslides, left dams endangered and has left over 3.5 million homes without power, mostly in Florida and Georgia.
Helene on Thursday night had hit Florida with a windspeed of 140 mph (225 kph), and left behind a chaotic landscape with submerged cars, flooded roads, fallen trees and collapse of power supply system. Helene was the outcome of a tropical depression.
