Europe may be in jittery over Donald Trump’s win keeping in mind the aggressive Russia, but Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban is in a jubilant mood, news reports said on Thursday, a day after Trump declared his victory.

Orban praised Trump and even called him “man of peace”, who wants to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump has also said that he would not be starting any new war, though he did not say what he will do with the old wars, particularly in the Middle-East. His stand on Russia-Ukraine war however is clear—that he would not be giving support to Ukraine and that Ukraine should negotiate peace with Russia. This stand of Trump is not going too well with Europe, which wants U.S. support in Ukraine war to keep Russia in check.

According to reports, Orban and Trump spoke over phone late on Wednesday, and Orban posted on social media: "We have big plans for the future".

The European leaders are meeting in Hungary.
