Hezbollah launched more than 100 rockets into northern Israel early Sunday, with several impacting near Haifa, as Israel intensified its military operations in Lebanon. The latest escalation follows Israeli strikes that have killed dozens, including a senior Hezbollah commander, and targeted the group’s communications infrastructure.
In response, a Hezbollah leader declared an “open-ended battle,” signaling a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two sides. Air raid sirens blared across northern Israel, forcing hundreds of thousands of residents into shelters.
One rocket struck near a residential building in Kiryat Bialik, a city close to Haifa, injuring at least three people and causing fires that engulfed cars and buildings. Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service confirmed four people were wounded in the attack.
