US. Vice President Ms. Kamala Harris, also the Democratic candidate, and Former President Mr. Donald Trump are gearing up for the September 10 presidential debate in their own way, news agencies reported. While Ms. Harris has been taking practices for the big day under the guidance of Democratic consultant Philippe Reines, a longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, Mr. Trump is reportedly going as usual with his scheduled campaigns.

The presidential debate would take place on ABC News, though Trump preferred Fox News. Mr Trump has been maintaining that the ABC News debate moderator will not treat him fairly, but said that he will let Ms Harris speak, a strategy he had adopted with President Joe Biden in the June 27 presidential debate.

Meanwhile, both Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris have spoken to broadcasters giving glimpses of what may come on the big day that decides the tide of the election. Without referring to the practice sessions and probable strategy of Mr. Harris, Trump, while interacting with Fox News host Sean Hannity, said: “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face,” quoting famous Mike Tyson.

Harris, on the other hand, said in a radio interview: “We should be prepared for the fact that he is not burdened by telling the truth”, commenting on her rival.
