The Supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued an order for direct strike on Israel. He issued the order at an emergency meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. The order has been issued in retaliation for the killing of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was allegedly killed by Israel in a strike in Tehran. Many international newspapers reported about the order.

Iran and Hamas have accused Israel of the assassination. After the Israel-Hamas war started in Gaza Strip in October last year, Haniyeh was on the hot list of Israel. Israel so far had been avoiding a direct all-out war with Israel after the Israel-Hamas war started and had been trying to strike a balance, putting pressure on Israel through its allies and proxy forces in the region.
