Germany will shut all three Iranian consulates on its territory in reaction to the execution of a German-Iranian national by Iran. But, it will allow Tehran's embassy to continue to function, a German foreign ministry statement said on Thursday as reported by news organisations.
News organisations, quoting German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said: "Our diplomatic relations are already more than at a low point".
Iran had put to death one German-Iranian national, Sharmahd, after he was convicted on charge of carrying out a terrorist attack in Iran.
Germany earlier had already recalled its ambassador to Iran over Jamshid Sharmahd's execution and summoned the Iranian charge d'affaires to voice Berlin's protest.
Germany is supporting Israel in the Middle-East war, and Iran is fighting the war with Israel.
