Germany recalled its ambassador to Iran for consultation over an execution of a German-Iranian national, Jamshid Sharmahd, by Iran, news organisations reported on Tuesday quoting the German Foreign Ministry.

Germany Foreign Ministry put a statement ‘X’ on Tuesday, saying: "We have sent our strongest protest against the actions of the Iranian regime & reserve the right to take further action."

Sharmahd had been put to death after being convicted of carrying out terrorist attacks in Iran. Iran Foreign Ministry also took to ‘X’ and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said: "No terrorist enjoys impunity in Iran. Even if supported by Germany". The post further said that Iranian national Jamshid Sharmahd openly and unashamedly led a terrorist attack on a mosque that had killed 14 innocent people.
