French far right leader Marine Le Pen was barred from contesting 2027 presidential election in France after a court on Monday convicted her of misuse of EU fund. The conviction includes a five-year bar on running for public office.
The conviction includes a four-year prison term—two years as suspended sentence and two years to be served in home detention. The judge also slapped a fine of 100,000 euro upon Le Pen.
