Damage due to fire in the Tata Group’s Apple iPhone component plant in south India’s Hosur in Tamilnadu, threatens to affect festival sale of the high-end electronic gadgets during festive season in India.

The festive season begins from Thursday, October 3 with the starting of Mahalaya, the ten-day worship of deity Durga, which will extend and culminate in the festival of light popularly called Dipawali in mid-November.

According to data available on the digital sites, Apple iPhone sales during the festive season alone crosses 1.5 million units in India. The Apple may depend on the supply of critical parts from outside India, particularly China.
